Description
The position requires excellent interpersonal skills and a love for children. Responsibilities include assisting with daily childcare, managing classroom activities, maintaining a clean classroom environment, and supporting the lead teacher with any task.
- Follow lesson plans and educational activities prepared by the regular teacher.
- Supervise and engage with children during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment.
- Manage classroom behavior in a positive and constructive manner.
- Communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Provide feedback on lessons and student progress to the Preschool Director.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; 45 DCF hours
- Experience working with young children in a classroom setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with children of various ages and backgrounds.
- First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
- Must be organized, self-sufficient, and able to interact effectively with students, parents, faculty and staff, and the lead teacher. Willing and able to take over a class as required.
