The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data governance and analytics and will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our data infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Designing, building and maintaining the data infrastructure for the organization
  • Developing and managing data pipelines, processes, and SAP Datasphere warehouse supplying the SAP Analytics Cloud platform
  • Collaborating with data analyst(s), technology and business team members, and reporting to manager of Data Analytics to meet specific data needs across the enterprise
  • Participate in the full lifecycle of data analytics projects, from requirements gathering and design to development, testing and deployment
  • Design, develop and maintain data warehouse(s) to store and organize large datasets for analysis and reporting
  • Architect and build scalable data pipelines to move data between different systems, including data warehouses, cloud based and on-premises software applications and analytics tools
  • Extract data from diverse sources (databases, APIs, applications) and implement efficient data ingestion processes (ETL processes and CDS views)
  • Clean, standardize, and transform raw data into a usable format for analysis, including data validation and quality checks (ETL processes)
  • Create data models to represent relationships between data entities, ensuring data consistency and accessibility based on business requirements
  • Monitor data quality, identifying and resolving data inconsistencies, and implementing data quality checks throughout the pipeline
  • Monitor and optimize data pipelines for efficiency and performance, including query optimization and data compression
  • Ensure enterprise compliance with data privacy regulations and implement appropriate data security measures and access controls
  • Work closely with data analysts and business users to understand their data needs and translate them into technical requirements
  • Partner and communicate effectively across departments, data stewards, business and IT stakeholders’ data governance objectives, policies, and practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs, communicate data insights, and address data related challenges
  • Stay updated on emerging data analytics tools, technologies, and SAP recommending and implementing new solutions to enhance data analysis capabilities
  • Perform other related duties necessary to conduct job objectives in an efficient and effective manner
  • Provide support for internal and external financial audits

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong proficiency in data warehousing technologies and creating ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes within Datasphere and CDS views for SAP Analytics Cloud
  • Deep knowledge in SQL, scripting languages such as Python or R, and JavaScript
  • Deep understanding of data governance principles, data quality methodologies, data lifecycle management
  • Excellent ability to communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders, influence, and drive decision-making, as well as lead teams
  • Expertise in relational database management systems and capability to design and implement data models for efficient data storage and retrieval
  • An understanding of business processes and how data can be leveraged to meet financial, operational, and strategic goals
  • Proven experience in data management roles, with experience managing large, complex, and diverse datasets from multiple data, including real-time streaming data
  • 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management or related field
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as SAP Analytics Cloud, Datasphere, S4/HANA (public cloud preferred), and BTP
  • Bachelor’s degree in information management, data science, statistics, engineering, computer science, business administration or similar field of study or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Preferred:
    • Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) with a concentration in data analytics, data science or master’s degree in a related field
    • Certified Data Management professional (CDMP) and/or Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)

Travel requirements: 5% of time
