Studio Set Builder
Description

The Studio Set Builder supports the day-to-day operations of the studio team department, which set construction and maintenance, material management, and collaboration with the creative team to understand project requirements.   • High school diploma or equivalent education required
  • Work with photography studio staff to build props and sets as needed 
  • Collaborate with the creative team to understand project requirements and develop set designs that align with our clients' visions.
  • Transform raw materials into visually captivating, high-quality set pieces that elevate our photography work.
  • Manage material sourcing, inventory, and budgeting for set construction projects.
  • Ensure the timely completion of set construction projects to meet project deadlines.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workshop environment.
  • Strong carpentry skills, including the ability to read blueprints, use hand and power tools, and construct various types of structures.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems that arise during construction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Studio Manager, Photographers, and other crew members.
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Previous experience in construction or carpentry is a plus.
  • Experience using standard hand, power, and wood working tools
  • Self-starter with the ability to complete tasks under limited supervision
  • Assist with general building maintenance as time allows


Physical Requirements  


  • Requires use of proper body mechanics with pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling and bending 
  • Pushing/pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs 
  • Requires fine motor hand and arm movement, manual dexterity and coordination 
  • Requires near visual acuity 
  • Requires working around and operating departmental equipment 
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department in the facility 
  • Requires the ability to function in a professional manner under stressful circumstances 


 Work Environment


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, hazardous materials, and outdoor elements.

Salary Description
$20-$25 an hour
