Zero dB Communications (ZdB) is a leading fiber optic full turnkey contractor headquartered in Spokane, Washington with offices throughout the West Coast specializing in splicing/testing and placing fiber optic cables. An Aerial Underground Construction III will maintain control of outside plant (OSP) activities surrounding the assigned work sites, which includes recording and maintaining accurate field notes, support project timelines and inspecting, designing and providing accurate staking sheets for projects.
Additional responsibilities include operating fiber construction equipment and working closely with other Aerial/Underground Construction employees to oversee the erecting, maintaining and repairing of aerial and underground fiber communication networks. This position requires field work with some travel requirements that may be upwards of 80% of scheduled worktime, depending on the business needs. Individuals in this role must be comfortable working with customers and technology on a daily basis. This position will be reporting to our office in Spokane, WA.

Pay: $27.00 - $33.50 per hour based on experience.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- At least 1 year of previous experience in the fiber optic field is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company’s minimum safety standard. Commercial Driver’s license is preferred.
- General knowledge of residential and commercial construction methods. Previous Lead/Foreman experience is a plus.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft applications.
- In-depth understanding of technology-based services, products and networking.
- Able to meet physical requirements: climb ladders, work in confined spaces and/or various heights, lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., squat, kneel, bend, crawl and stand for long periods of time.
- Enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather.
- Self-starter with positive attitude and willingness to work.
Schedule:
- Required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- 8-hour shift, Monday – Friday.
- Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed in addition to regular travel.
- Travel will be required and may be up to 80% depending on business needs.
