JOB SUMMARY
Supports pharmacological services by stocking, assembling, and distributing medications.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Helps health care providers and patients by greeting them in person and by phone; answering questions and requests; referring inquiries to the pharmacist.
- Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs.
- Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Organizes medications for pharmacist to dispense by reading medication orders and prescriptions; preparing labels; calculating quantities & prepping compounds for pharmacist admixtures when needed
- Maintains records by recording and filing physicians' orders and prescriptions.
- Generates revenues by calculating, recording, and issuing charges.
- Ensures medication availability by delivering medications to patients and departments.
- Prepares reports by collecting and summarizing information.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Assist with copay assistance program
- Understand and be able to explain the purpose and importance of 340B within our organization
- Work on numerous projects surrounding 340B and growing the pharmacy in compliance with statute
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge:
General knowledge of pharmacy.
Skills:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with pharmaceutical technology and equipment, including computers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and phone systems, as well as MS Excel/Word/Outlook, Electronic Health Record systems and automated medical scheduling and billing programs.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Associates Degree Preferred
- Satisfactory completion of Pharmacy Technician Certification Program
- 1+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Full range of motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye–hand coordination
- Standing and walking frequently and occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, biohazards, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinical setting
- Some travel within western North Carolina
