Our Lake Placid, FL location is expanding, and we are seeking a motivated and experienced Shop Foreman to join our team and help manage our growing service department.

Position Overview:

The Shop Foreman will oversee the daily operations of our service department, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality repairs, and excellent customer service. This role combines hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, including managing technicians and meeting productivity targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Supervision:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of service technicians and support staff.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in both technical work and customer service.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Train and mentor technicians to ensure they are up-to-date with industry standards and dealership procedures.

Operational Management:

  • Schedule and assign work to technicians, ensuring jobs are completed efficiently and within established timelines.
  • Monitor and manage productivity, including tracking hours per repair order, labor rates, and parts usage.
  • Maintain an organized and safe shop environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
  • Customer Service:
  • Ensure that customer service standards are met by overseeing the quality of repairs and addressing any customer concerns or issues.
  • Communicate with customers regarding service progress, repair recommendations, and cost estimates.

Administrative Duties:

  • Manage repair order workflow, ensuring accuracy in diagnostics, parts ordering, and billing.
  • Track and report on key performance metrics, including hours turned, labor efficiency, and parts gross/net profit.

Technical Expertise:

  • Perform hands-on repair and maintenance work as needed, including diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technological advancements to provide the best service possible.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a marine service environment, with a strong background in managing technicians and shop operations.
  • Certifications in Yamaha, Suzuki, or Mercury brands preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a marine service role, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or management position.
  • In-depth knowledge of marine equipment, repair processes, and diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Proficiency with DMS systems and software tools (e.g., Lightspeed).
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on efficiency and customer satisfaction.
