We're currently seeking a passionate and skilled Quality Engineer (QE): CMM/Vision Programmer to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality, engineered solutions to our customers worldwide. In this role you will be responsible for programming and operating the Smartscope Vision System (OGP, equivalents) or CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) including the programming of First Piece (Set-Up) and SPC inspection routines for new and existing programs. 


Responsibilities:

  • Expert Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and Statistics. Support department inspectors in Smartscope, CMM inspection, use of Data Bases and general inspection tools and techniques.
  • Design and generate detailed drawings using CAD for part holding fixtures used on the Vision Systems SmartScopes and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines).
  • Update and maintain the department Statistical Data Base and data collection software.
  • Support Engineering Department on new product development.
  • Interfaces with and coordinates quality requirements regarding: Technology, Metrology, Fixture Design, Control Plans.
  • Interfaces with cross-functional teams from other departments as needed to ensure quality requirements are understood and met.
  • Coordinates quality requirements with cross functional teams. Assure that quality requirements are understood and attainable. Works with Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling, Engineering, Design and Manufacturing to assists in developing PFMEA's, Process Flow Charts, and Inspection Control Plans and statistical capability.
  • Interpret blueprints and specifications related to geometric tolerancing, gauging, statistical requirements and related specifications.
  • Assist training inspectors I, II, III in methods, statistics and geometric tolerancing.
  • Develop inspection plans and methods including fixture and gage design, use or CAD software in design.
  • First piece, in process and final inspection of the more difficult production tooling on an as needed basis; Will perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • A two-year college degree (AS) or equivalent required.
  • Three years’ experience in Quality Control/Assurance and Mechanical Inspection.
  • Three years of CAD Design and knowledge of Computer Programming.
  • Must be proficient in blueprint interpretation, geometric tolerance and statistics.
  • Must have good general computer skills.  Proficiency in Excel a plus.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Quality Control/Assurance in a tight tolerance industry with an automotive or medical customer base.
  • Requires verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate technical information to people of various degrees of ability. Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Needs an understanding of automotive or medical industry quality requirements (FMEA, Process Flows, Control Plans, and system requirements).
  • Knowledgeable ISO 9000, ISO TS 16949 Automotive, ISO 13485 Medical and other customer specific requirements.
  • For incoming inspection must have general knowledge and training in the principles related to metals or resins.
  • Requires working knowledge of various types of measuring equipment and data collection systems. Specifically vision Systems and CMM 


This position is at our East Hanover, NJ location.


Pay Range: $100k-$115k
