Position Summary:


Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the kitchen utility technician/ dishwasher is to provide a clean and safe kitchen and dining area for our clients, Staff, volunteers and visitors.

 

Qualifications, Essential Skills, and Experience Required:

  • Ability to understand and practice the mission of Camillus House.
  • Education: High School diploma or GED. 
  • Language: Proficiency in oral/written English; Spanish preferred; additional languages a plus (i.e., Creole).
  • Skills: Proficiency in computer (Word, Excel, other data collecting programs).
  • Successful completion of Toxicology test, L2 and local background screening, and OIG. 
  • Valid FL Driver License with clean driving record.

  • Keeps the dishwashing area and dishwashing machine clean and reports any functional-mechanical problems immediately. 
  • Sorts and rinses dirty items and places them in racks to send through the dishwashing machine. 
  • Loads, runs and unloads dishwashing machine.
  • Follows standards of service of the hospitality industry and adheres to all company and kitchen safety rules, policies and procedures. 
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, and cooking utensils by using machine and manual cleaning methods. 
  • Ensures that   daily cleaning assignments are complete, following the master cleaning   schedule. 
  • Maintains adequate levels of cleanliness in tableware for dining room and kitchen. 
  • Adheres to health department and food handling guidelines. 
  • Monitors   dishwashing machine water temperature to ensure sanitary washing cycles.
  •  Ensures that daily cleaning   assignments are complete, following the master cleaning schedule. 
  • Sorts and stacks clean items and carry clean dishes to cook’s line and other proper storage areas.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with food service management and staff from all departments
  • Bags and hauls dish room trash to dumpsters at designated times. 
  • Handles tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss. 
  • Cleans the food preparation and production areas as required. 
  • Adheres to health department and food handling guidelines. 
  • Ensures bathroom are clean and stocked (inside kitchen and dining area). 
  • Other Duties as assigned.

  • Physical demands: While performing job duties, an employee is required to stand, walk, and use hands/fingers. May occasionally lift and move up to 25 lbs., clean (sit, bend/twist neck, bend/twist waist, squat, climb, balance, stoop, crouch, reach, handle, kneel, crawl, reach above/below shoulder height, repetitive movements, wipe, sweep, dust, mop). Specific vision abilities required by the position include close vision, color vision.
  • Work Environment: The noise level of the work environment can range from low to moderate. 

Work Schedule:

Non-Remote Position

  • Full-time: Monday through Friday
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule (i.e., Evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call), as needed.
