This position reports to the Quality Manager then Vice President (VP) of Quality and is responsible for inspecting parts, verifying Poka-Yokes, and identifying and correcting quality risk.
Minimum level of education / training required/certificates/licenses:
This position requires a General Educational Diploma (GED) or High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma.
Minimum experience required:
Must be able to read micrometers, calipers, and indicators. Blueprint reading, knowledge of computers, Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), and cut & etch process is a plus.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Perform first and last piece layouts in a timely manner.
2. Can accurately read part prints.
3. Adequately understands gage calibration, knows when a gage is in need of calibration or repair.
4. Able to manage assembly hold area.
5. Carefully audits multi-out parts to verify labeled correctly.
6. Actively assists in training of operators in quality checks.
7. Ensures green tag is properly completed and at correct work center at the start of a run.
8. Precisely monitors quality checks during production.
9. Communicates with accuracy all pertinent employee quality performance information to group leader and above.
10. Ensure gages that are needed for each job are at the specified work center.
11. Has working knowledge of all poka-yokes.
12. Accurately understands the machine reset process and how to ensure no defective parts get out during this process.
13. Competent on how to use and train others on correct use of torque wrenches, force testers, calipers, indicators, and all other inspection equipment used for weld machine inspection.
14. Proficiently keep first/last piece part bins up to date (last 2 production runs).
15. Can organize and manage all inspection and poka-yoke checks.
16. Based on company needs a flexible work schedule and/or overtime is needed.

Environmental: Employee is responsible for complying and supporting any environmental policies and programs put in place by Batesville Tool and Die (BTD). Employee may not bring any environmentally hazardous substances or compounds into BTD and is always conscious of the impact on the environment. Support and adhere to Technical Specification (TS) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) activities and procedures.
