Summer Ice Skating Camp Counselor
Description

 The Niles Park District is seeking enthusiastic and responsible individuals to join our team as Summer Ice Skating Camp Counselors. This seasonal, part-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work with campers in a fun and engaging environment.


Schedule:

  • Camp runs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM   June 16 through August 8 
  • Additional hours may be available for before and after care.

Position Details:

  • Part-time, seasonal role (no benefits).
  • Hourly pay: $13 - $15 per hour.


  • Greet parents and children as they arrive.
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining the safety of all campers in daily routines, field trips, or during daily water park visits.
  • Play an active role in planning the daily schedule and activities to keep campers excited, safe, and engaged.
  • Initiate spontaneous activities to accommodate agenda conflicts/changes/weather.
  •  Assist in providing excellent customer service and maintaining a positive public image by addressing questions and concerns from staff, patrons, participants, and parents.
  • Assist in keeping program supplies, equipment, and facility space clean, safe, and organized.
  • Attend all staff meetings and training programs as required.


Requirements
  • Must be able to ice skate. Extensive skating experience is a plus. 
  • Must own your own skates. 
  • Must be available June 16 through August 8. 
  • Must be available to work the morning of July 4, 2025.

  • Minimum 16 years of age
  • Experience working with children ages 6 to 13. 
  • Good skills in planning activities for children
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with children, parents, and staff
  • Ability to solve problems as they arise
  • Must be dependable, energetic, and have a positive attitude
  • Knowledge of the Ice Sports Industry skating program or Learn to Skate USA preferred. 
  • Experience teaching ice skating, learn-to-skate classes, dance classes, or other sports to children is a plus.
