About EMT:

Since 1996, we've provided compassionate, safe, and timely transport. Our goal is to transport any passenger - no matter what disabilities or challenges they may face. We take great pride in transporting our passengers to their desired destination.

Who We Serve: EMT serves organizations in the St. Louis, Missouri metro and surrounding areas, including neighboring areas in Illinois. These organizations include school districts, hospitals, doctor's offices, and more. We also transport individuals and families to and from appointments or simply when they need a ride.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Ambulatory Driver to provide safe and efficient transportation services for patients to and from medical appointments. The ideal candidate will possess excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to customer service, and the ability to assist individuals with varying mobility needs.


Key Responsibilities:

- Safely transport patients to and from medical appointments in a timely manner.

- Assist patients with boarding and disembarking from the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety.

- Maintain a clean and well-functioning vehicle, performing routine inspections and reporting any maintenance needs.

- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while ensuring the safety of passengers.

- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff to coordinate transportation needs.

- Document transportation activities and maintain accurate records as required.


Skills and Qualifications:

- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

- Previous experience in a driving or transportation role preferred.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability to assist individuals with mobility challenges.

- Knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns.

- Basic first aid and CPR certification is a plus.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Requirements


- Valid Class E driver's license with a clean driving record 


- High school diploma or equivalent 


- CPR and First Aid certification preferred


- Ability to pass a physical examination and drug screening 


- Familiarity with GPS and navigation systems 


- Excellent communication and customer service skills 


- Flexible schedule 


- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and safety protocols 


- Experience in healthcare or patient transport (preferred) 


- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations 


- Punctuality and reliability in attending scheduled shifts 


- Capacity to work calmly under pressure and in emergency situations 


- Patience and empathy towards patients with mental or physical disabilities 


- Ability to document transport details accurately and submit reports as required
