Description

POSITION: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)


We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at our Central Administrative Office in Presque Isle to lead our agency and guide it toward achieving its mission of providing exceptional behavioral health services. The CEO will play a key role in shaping the future of the organization, driving strategic growth, ensuring financial sustainability, and maintaining a high standard of clinical care.  


This individual will work closely with the Board of Directors, Senior Leadership team, and community stakeholders to oversee the operational, clinical, financial, and strategic aspects of the organization. The CEO will be an advocate for innovative care models, community engagements, and enhancing the quality of services.

  • Be passionate about AMHC’s mission of providing services to individuals with mental health conditions, substance disorder diagnoses, developmental disabilities, and brain injuries within a framework of wellness, recovery, and enhancing the quality of life for adults, children, and their families.

  • Be skilled in an advocacy role while being a strong collaborator as a community partner. Build and maintain partnerships with national, state, and local governmental entities, legislators, other providers, and advocacy groups.
  • Have a strong track record of working collaboratively with a Board of Directors, Senior Leadership Team, and the communities it serves.
  • Have a professional history of reliably producing results, innovation, diversification of revenue, and expertise in business development; have an understanding of behavioral healthcare and human services trends and possess a global perspective.
  • Possess a management style that is participatory, transparent, and engaging while being decisive and an effective problem solver; commits to “team” and individual staff growth and development.

Requirements
  •  A master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Six or more years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with all staff levels, individuals receiving services, their families, and external entities.
  • Strong written, oral communication, and public speaking skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively and effectively with diverse groups, including the Board of Directors and local, state, and federal officials.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, ability to prioritize work tasks, and satisfactorily adhere to projected timeframes.
