Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Machine Builder II plays an important role during the build phase of a project. The position assists the Machine Build Lead with organizing the job site, performing station builds, mounting project related components, and assisting with the installation of guarding, along with other responsibilities. The position requires a strong work ethic, as well as the ability to work independently and in a team setting. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist the Machine Build Lead with project related tasks and assignments.
  • Analyze mechanical assembly and detail drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Report any discrepancies and/or issues related to the machine build or drawing problems to the machine build lead for documentation.
  • Assist with inspection of fabricated details against blueprint tolerances to verify conformance.
  • Prepare and organize the job site for assembly.
  • Identify and collaborate on necessary alterations to fabricated and purchased components. 
  • Assist in troubleshooting issues on the project.
  • Performs tasks such as drilling, tapping, layout work, and mounting components. 
  • Observe safety procedures.


OTHER DUTIES 

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Any other task assigned by management within scope of position, federal and state regulations.


Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School degree or GED. 
  • 2 years’ experience machine/mechanical build assembly, preferred.  
  • Vocational education in related field, preferred. 
  • Mechanical aptitude with a focus on safety and quality. 
  • Proficient with basic hand tools including hand drill, tape measure, and jig saw.
  • Basic knowledge of Bridgeport, surface grinder, lathe, chop saw, and panel saw. 



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Effective verbal and written communication.  
  • Basic proficiency reading part and assembly drawings preferred.
  • Ability to accept coaching and training from Machine Build Job Lead(s).

  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic math: add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions, percentages.

  • Ability to complete assignments with little or no direct supervision.


Salary Description
$24.00 - $30.00/hr
