Description

We're growing! Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, is hiring for a mid level gift officer in Donor Relations! The Donor Relations position develops deeper relationships with a portfolio of mid-level donors through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship initiatives. This work qualifies donors for a major gift pipeline and allows donors to connect with their interests and values in a more impactful way. This position also supports department objectives such as campaigns and other fundraising initiatives.


Essential Job Duties:

  • Implement and manage a mid-level donor caseload (individuals in the $500–$5,000 giving range) of approximately 600 donors.
  • Establish short-term and long-term cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for multiple tiers.
  • Qualify new prospects for major or mid-level caseload placement.
  • Provide support to The Bergh Society in partnership with the other mid-level fundraisers and Director of Development by soliciting new members, stewarding current members, and planning and executing stewardship events.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Development, set mid-level annual goals and budget. 
  • In collaboration with the Database Consultant, generate reports to measure activity and monitor results.
  • Develop and contribute to mid-level program communications in coordination with the Director of Development and communications team.
  • Meet monthly activity and meaningful action goals.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records, contact reports, and background data to preserve institutional memory and facilitate programmatic performance evaluation.
  • Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable state/federal laws.
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations for self and others.
  • Perform other duties as requested to meet organization needs.
Requirements

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field strongly preferred. Two or more years of successful experience in fundraising or related positions such as marketing or communications.  A combination of education and experience will be considered if aligned with the position.

Skills: Excellent communication skills preferred. Experience in building long-term relationships and the ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail. Proficient in using the most recent versions of computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database management (Raisers Edge preferred).  Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment with a professional demeanor, self-reliance, and resourcefulness. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands while achieving work goals.

Physical Demands: Performs work primarily in an office setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position during shift and move throughout the building. Performance may also require prolonged periods of repetitive motion. Frequently required to communicate with others. Occasionally required to move excessive weight.
