Job Summary
The House Supervisor is responsible for delivering leadership, direction, and resources to staff during evening, night and week-end hours. The House Supervisor provides leadership and oversight to all departmental employees. Ensures the delivery of optimal patient care through the coordination of clinical activities, staff supervision, personnel leadership, and department organization.
Essential Functions
- Assists in filling any staffing gaps due to call-ins, census surge, etc. Is not afraid to select strong candidates.
- Functions as staffing coordinator during evenings and weekends.
- Provides coverage for coworkers in their absence or as assigned.
- Functions as bed access during evenings and weekends.
- Ability to coordinate emergency room admissions, direct admissions, and transfers while looking at census throughout facility.
- Allocate staff within departments, deciding how many nurses should work at a given time to maintain a high standard of care.
- Monitor the ebb and flow of patients throughout an organization, collecting data and making recommendations to healthcare organization leaders about ordering additional resources as needed.
- Clearly communicate any barriers or potential barriers to Administration on Call
- Any other duties as assigned by Director of Nursing/Leadership.

Experience
· Minimum 5 years’ experience as a House Supervisor, specifically in ICU.
Education
· Graduation from an accredited school of
professional nursing.
Licensure/Certifications
· BLS and ACLS from AHA required. · Current professional nurse license issue and/or recognized by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas required.
· Clinical specialty certification highly desired.
