CKD USA has an opening in their Austin Manufacturing Facility for an Engineering Technician – VEC.
The Engineering Technician – VEC will be responsible for supporting semiconductor equipment refurbish, manufacturing, testing, troubleshooting, and process optimization in a fast-paced, high-tech environment. This role involves working closely with engineers, production teams, and quality assurance to ensure efficient and high-quality manufacturing of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Reports all activities in responsible area to the Production Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Perform drawing revisions to support manufacturing based off customer provided drawing using SolidWorks.
- Assist with routing and process flow sequences.
- Assist engineering with CNC programing.
- Perform setup, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including VEC systems.
- Assist engineers in process development, testing, and validation to improve manufacturing efficiency and yield.
- Conduct diagnostic analysis and failure investigations on semiconductor components and equipment.
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications to ensure compliance with production requirements.
- Support data collection, documentation, and reporting of test results and process improvements.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on VEC and related semiconductor fabrication equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, production teams, and quality assurance.
- Maintain cleanroom protocols and safety procedures in compliance with company and industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and process-related issues within the manufacturing environment.
- Use blueprints or instructions to assemble products and parts.
- Check that products are fully assembled and meet quality standards.
- Operate and maintain manufacturing equipment required for assembly.
- Pack, weigh, and label completed items for storage or shipment.
- Present a positive and respectful professional image towards customers and co-workers and make decisions based on company policies and processes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a semiconductor manufacturing or engineering technician role, preferably with VEC or vacuum-based equipment.
- Strong understanding of SolidWorks and creating and revising/modifying drawings.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes, tools, and materials.
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining semiconductor equipment.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and follow strict industry protocols.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physical fitness to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work in fast-paced production environment.
Education:
- Associate degree or technical certification in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Semiconductor Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
