Summary

As a Floor Assistant (Busser), you will help facilitate a smooth workflow by supporting the service team, setting them up for success and ensuring they can deliver a seamless, meaningful, and timely dining experience for our guests

We're looking for someone who can...

  • Ensure hot food is served hot and cold food is served cold.
  • Greet guests promptly upon seating and provide bread, butter, and water.
  • Clear used tableware between courses and provide replacements as needed.
  • Reset tables within two minutes of guest departure, ensuring cleanliness of table, chairs, and surrounding area.
  • Remove tableware after guests leave and properly sort items in the dish room.
  • Maintain a clean dining area at all times.
  • Package guest leftovers following proper sanitation and packaging procedures.
  • Respond to guest requests and communicate needs to the server when necessary.
  • Coordinate with servers and hosts to optimize seating, table turnover, and service flow.
  • Assist servers with food delivery as needed.
  • Refill non-alcoholic beverages for guests.
  • Assist with room service orders, including taking orders, inputting them in the POS, delivery, and pick-up.
  • Complete all assigned side work.
  • Foster teamwork to support seamless service.

Qualifications

  • Desirable | 1+ years' experience as a busser or similar
  • Basic written composition, comprehension, safety-consciousness, and math
  • Advanced spoken English
  • Flexible work availability including weekends and holidays required

Required Permits & Certifications

Learn As You Go

  • Knowledge of café beverages, beer, wine, mixology, and spirits
  • Basic knowledge of food regulations, related industry terminology, knowledge, standards, and best practices. Basic knowledge of phone and voicemail systems and point of sale (POS) systems.

Collaboration & Engagement

As a Floor Assistant (Busser), you will work under the direct guidance of the Director of Outlets, Outlets Manager, and Assistant Outlets Manager. In addition to your home department, you will regularly work with the culinary team. You will not oversee other staff and can expect a significant level of interaction with guests and the public.

  • Physical Demands. Occasionally, the employee may lift or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, and peripheral vision. The role may also require sustained visual and mental concentration.
