Summary

As a Banquet House Attendant, you will assist in event preparation and execution, arranging equipment and settings in banquet areas based on specifics of the Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and individual guest needs. Post-event responsibilities extend to the dismantling of setups and comprehensive cleaning of the banquet spaces, readying them for future events.

We're looking for someone who can...

  • Arrange and dismantle tables, chairs, linens, podiums, dance floor, etc. according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and/or instructions given from Banquet Captains/ Managers.
  • Break down and store all equipment post events.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the banquet kitchen by washing dishes, emptying garbage, sweeping and mopping the kitchen floors.
  • Maintain and replenish dish area chemicals, hand washing stations, cleaning supplies and PPE.
  • Perform general cleaning duties including wiping surfaces, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Prepare and stock meeting rooms with the necessary supplies (pens, notepads, etc.) according to the BEO.
  • Set up and refresh beverage and meal stations as outlined in BEO or directed by a captain/manager.
  • Collect china, glassware, flatware, buffets and structures for meal functions
  • Assist with meal and/or beverages service as directed by a captain /manager
  • Ensure readiness in proper uniform and adhere to the appearance standards set in the banquet department.

Qualifications

  • Desirable | Previous hotel or event experience
  • Basic written composition
  • Intermediate comprehension and safety-consciousness
  • Flexible work availability including weekends required

Required Permits & Certifications

Learn As You Go

  • Basic knowledge of food regulations (handling, sanitation, storage), related industry terminology, knowledge, standards, and best practices, English (speaking, reading, writing), math, A/V equipment setup and breakdown, troubleshooting, TV and DVD player familiarity, point of sale (POS) systems, radio/walkie-talkie operation, general troubleshooting, hand and power tool operation, high standards of cleanliness, and knowledge of café beverages, beer, and wine.

Collaboration & Engagement

As a Banquet House Attendant, you will work under the direct guidance of the Assistant Banquet Manager and Banquet Captains. In addition to your home department, you will regularly work with the Culinary, IT, and Sales & Catering teams. You will not oversee other staff and can expect a moderate level of interaction with guests and the public.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Physical Demands. The role requires frequent communication, standing for long periods, and mobility. Task involved repetitive hand use, reaching and movements like stooping and bending. Employees must occasionally lift 40 pounds and regularly handle 20-30 pounds. Good close and distance vision, along with continues mental focus, are essential.
  • Work Environment. The position operates in a dynamic hotel setting, encompassing both indoor and outdoor spaces. employees should anticipate fluctuations in temperatures and moderate noise levels of event environments.
