Popular 15 Walnut Tavern in South Hamilton is hiring a Host/Food Runner to join our team!


This a phenomenal opportunity to get your foot in the door in a busy restaurant, make some amazing money, have a flexible schedule and have the opportunity to eventually move into a serving position.


Shifts will vary, but candidates must have evening and weekend availability, lunch availability preferred as well.


Job Responsibilities For a Food Runner

  • Assist servers/bartenders with delivering food to the guests
  • Clearing and resetting tables or clearing resetting bar seats
  • Helping to maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the restaurant
  • Restocking server or bar supplies as needed


Job Responsibilities For Hosts

  • Greeting guests upon their arrival
  • Helping to cultivate a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment guests walk in our front door
  • Answer the phones to accept reservations, take out orders, or answer general questions
  • Maintain a wait list and be able to use the online reservation system (you will receive training)
  • Seat servers evenly and consistently in order to not overwhelm any one particular team member
  • Communicate with both the front and back of the house regarding levels of business, etc.

Requirements
  • Must be 16 or older
  • Must be able to work 2-3 days a week
  • This is a year round position, not seasonal
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Grace under fire and the ability to remain calm and cool in high stress and busy situations
  • A high level of organization
  • Natural hospitality skills and the ability to make people feel comfortable and at ease
  • No experience is needed for these positions, but previous restaurant or customer service experience would certainly be welcome!
