Summary
As a Banquet Server, you will execute banquet events according to plan, providing attentive service that aligns with client requests. Responsibilities include working collaboratively, maintaining a positive demeanor, and ensuring all service duties are performed efficiently for a successful event.
We're looking for someone who can...
- Read and understand Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for assigned functions.
- Set up and break down banquet spaces including tables, chairs, linens, podiums, dance floors, and buffets, following all BEOs and instructions from Banquet Captains/Managers.
- Ensure proper table settings, including china, glassware, silverware, and any necessary service items.
- Prepare and refresh beverage and meal stations as directed by the BEO or leadership.
- Clear tables and collect china, glassware, and flatware after meal functions.
- Maintain cleanliness in both front and back-of-house areas including dishwashing, emptying garbage, wiping surfaces, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.
- Communicate effectively with guests and colleagues in a polite, professional manner.
- Use headsets and radios for clear team communication and coordination.
- Arrive on time in proper uniform, adhering to personal appearance standards.

Qualifications
- Required | 6+ months’ Banquet/A la Carte Server experience
- Basic written composition
- Advanced comprehension and safety-consciousness
- Flexible work availability including weekends required
Required Permits & Certifications
- WA Food Worker Card required within 14 days after hire
- WA Class 12/13 Alcohol Server Permit (MAST) required within 60 days after hire
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record is a plus
Learn As You Go
- Basic knowledge of food regulations (handling, sanitation, storage), related industry terminology, knowledge, standards, and best practices, English (speaking, reading, writing), math, photocopier/scanner/printer use, A/V equipment setup and breakdown, troubleshooting, TV and DVD player familiarity, point of sale (POS) systems, radio/walkie-talkie operation, general troubleshooting, identifying food products, understanding of cooking methodologies, knowledge of international cuisine, high standards of cleanliness, and knowledge of café beverages, beer, wine, mixology, and spirits

Collaboration & Engagement
As a Banquet Server, you will work under the direct guidance of the Banquet Manager, Banquet Captains, and Director of Sales & Catering. In addition to your home department, you will regularly work with the Culinary, IT, Sales& Catering, and Union City Market teams. You will not oversee other staff and can expect a significant level of interaction with guests and the public.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Physical Demands. This role requires frequent communication, standing for long periods and mobility (walking and climbing stairs). Tasks involve repetitive hand use, reaching and movements like stooping and bending. Employees must occasionally lift 40 pounds and regularly handle 20-30 pounds. Good close and distance vision, along with continues mental focus, are essential
