Summary

As a Banquet Bartender, you will craft and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with Banquet Event Orders (BEOs). You are entrusted with the responsibility of not only ensuing guest satisfaction through exemplary service, but also for maintaining vigilance over alcohol consumption to guarantee a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. Your dedication to ownership and accountability in every aspect of service is essential to positive guest experiences.

We're looking for someone who can...

  • Accurately take and prepare beverage orders for guests and cocktail servers, including mixing cocktails, pouring beer and wine, and serving other drinks.
  • Ensure all beverages are properly recorded and accounted for using the consumption and POS system.
  • Manage the setup and breakdown of the banquet bar, including arranging tables, garnishes, mixers, glassware, utensils, beverages, ice, and waste disposal.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all bar areas, including the banquet liquor room and wine and beer coolers.
  • Handle all cash transactions at cash bars responsibly, including managing the cash drawer and executing proper cash drops.
  • Set up and dismantle banquet event settings according to Banquet Event Orders, including table and buffet arrangements.
  • Arrive on the floor in proper uniform, ready for service.
  • Use radios and headsets/earpieces properly for clear communication, ensuring effective execution of assigned tasks as directed by Banquet Captains/Managers.
  • Apply professional judgment in managing the bar environment, including responsible alcohol service and discreetly handling intoxicated guests.

Qualifications

  • Required | 6+ months' bartending experience
  • Basic written composition, comprehension, and safety-consciousness
  • Flexible work availability including weekends required

Required Permits & Certifications

Learn As You Go

  • Basic inventory management, knowledge of food regulations (handling, sanitation, storage), related industry terminology, knowledge, standards, and best practices, English (speaking, reading, writing), math, A/V equipment setup and breakdown, troubleshooting, TV and DVD player familiarity, point of sale (POS) systems, radio/walkie-talkie operation, general troubleshooting, identifying food products, understanding of cooking methodologies, knowledge of international cuisine, printing software and hardware, and café beverages
  • Intermediate knowledge of beer, wine, mixology, and spirits

Collaboration & Engagement

As a Banquet Bartender, you will work under the direct guidance of the Assistant Banquet Manager and Banquet Captains. In addition to your home department, you will regularly work with the Culinary, Sales & Catering, and Union City Market teams. You will not oversee other staff and can expect a significant level of interaction with guests and the public.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Physical Demands. This role requires frequent communication, standing for long periods and mobility (walking and climbing stairs). Tasks involved repetitive hand use, reaching and movements like stooping and bending. Employees must occasionally lift 40 pounds and regularly handle 20-30 pounds. Good close and distance vision, along with continues mental focus, are essential.
  • Work Environment. The position operates in a dynamic hotel setting, encompassing both indoor and outdoor spaces. employees should anticipate fluctuations in temperatures and moderate noise levels of event environments.
