Description

 This position is responsible for driving growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with key stakeholders, and leading the company’s expansion efforts. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, negotiation skills, and a strong understanding of market trends. This role collaborates closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to create innovative solutions that meet customer needs and expand the company’s footprint.

  • Research and identify potential markets, clients, and business opportunities to drive company growth.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, clients, and partners to promote the company’s services/products.
  • Conduct detailed market research and analysis to understand current trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
  • Create and execute strategic business development plans to meet growth objectives and revenue targets.
  • Generate leads and manage a sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, cold calling, and referrals.
  • Lead contract negotiations and closing of deals to secure long-term partnerships.
  • Work closely with the sales, marketing, and product teams to align business development strategies with company goals.
  • Provide regular reports on business development activities, sales performance, market trends, and competitor intelligence to senior management.
  • Focus on customer satisfaction and retention, ensuring long-term business relationships.
  • Courteously responds to inquiries.
  • Maintain an organized and safe work environment.
  • Can work both independently and in teams.
  • Perform other related projects and duties as assigned.

  • In-depth understanding of industry trends, market dynamics, competitor activities, and potential areas of business growth. Knowledge of market segmentation, customer needs, and emerging technologies.
  • Knowledge of sales methodologies, pipelines, and techniques used to generate leads, nurture relationships, and close deals. Familiarity with both B2B and B2C sales processes and      strategies.
  • Understanding of how business development activities align with the organization’s overall strategy and growth objectives. Ability to develop strategic plans that capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Knowledge of financial concepts related to sales and business development, including pricing strategies, ROI analysis, budgeting, and profit margins. Ability to create and manage budgets for business development initiatives.
  • Familiarity with the company’s products, services, and value propositions. Ability to effectively communicate product benefits and align solutions to meet client needs.
  • Knowledge of contract terms, negotiation tactics, and legal considerations related to sales and partnerships.  Ability to collaborate with legal teams to ensure compliance and favorable terms.
  • Understanding of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho) and other sales tools used for tracking leads, managing accounts, and analyzing performance.
  • Knowledge of how to build, maintain, and leverage professional networks, including trade shows, conferences, and online platforms to create business opportunities.
  • Knowledge of lead generation techniques, including digital marketing, cold calling, inbound/outbound sales, and referral programs. Understanding how to move prospects through the sales funnel.
  • Knowledge of post-sale customer service strategies and how business development aligns with customer satisfaction and long-term retention.
  • Strong sales skills, including the ability to prospect new business, qualify leads, close deals, and negotiate      favorable terms. Skilled in consultative selling and upselling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively present proposals, deliver presentations, and      interact with clients, senior management, and internal teams.
  • Ability to think strategically about business growth, identify opportunities, and align business development      activities with the company’s long-term objectives.

Qualifications:

· Must pass all criminal, substance and or financial background checks as requested.

· Must possess a valid class “c” driver’s license and pass Motor Vehicle Report audits.

Education and Experience:

· Proven experience as a Business Development Manager or Strategic Sales Manager level

· Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing or related field and 5 years of related experience 

OR 

· 9 years of related experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience

Work Environment: This position involves extensive travel within the designated sales territory, with the majority of time spent outside the office in customer meetings and fieldwork.
