Job Summary: 


The Marketing & Communications Coordinator supports the development and execution of marketing campaigns, newsletters, and content creation to promote a variety of IASLC activities. The Coordinator assists in the planning and implementation of marketing efforts, working closely with the Marketing & Communications team to ensure timely delivery and quality of materials. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, with a focus on efficiently managing multiple projects.

This full-time, exempt position reports to the Associate Director, Marketing & Communications.  The position is based in our downtown Denver office on a hybrid schedule.


Essential Functions:

  • Assist in developing and executing marketing content and campaigns for various audiences and program areas, ensuring adherence to IASLC brand guidelines and learning from experienced team members.
  • Support writing, proofreading, and editing content across different mediums for clarity, accuracy, completeness, AP Style, and consistent brand voice under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Coordinate and deliver monthly newsletters by gathering content submissions from internal teams, stakeholders, and members, with mentorship on layout and execution.
  • Contribute to social media content creation and posting on platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, X, and Blue Sky, gaining hands-on experience with social media management.
  • Schedule and manage marketing/communications posts in the department's content calendar, ensuring timely updates and learning about effective content planning.
  • Utilize project management software to track and document progress on assigned projects, learning how to manage workflows and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Create and use targeted contact lists for marketing projects, building proficiency in data extensions and database management.
  • Provide responsive support for marketing content requests from internal teams, assisting with various marketing materials and learning about different program areas.
  • Assist with monitoring digital campaign performance, tracking key metrics, and learning how to analyze data to improve future campaigns.
  • Support graphic design efforts when needed, gaining experience in design tools and assisting with the creation of visual content.
  • Actively support and demonstrate IASLC core values
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field or equivalent level of practical marketing experience.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in marketing, social or digital media, or a similar role, with a willingness to learn and grow in the field.
  • Strong technical aptitude and a demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new platforms and tools. Familiarity with systems such as Exact Client email software, Drupal-based websites, Salesforce (Fonteva), Bitly, Hootsuite, Canva, PropFuel, Google AdWords & Analytics is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with copywriting and copyediting experience.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to review and edit content for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as necessary (up to 10%).


Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Basic skills in graphic design.
  • Interest or background in scientific, medical, or healthcare fields
  • Previous international and/or association work experience.
  • Fluency/literacy in languages other than English.

  • Strong communicator who works well with both internal teams and external stakeholders, collaborating professionally and effectively.
  • Basic understanding of marketing platforms and best practices, particularly in social, digital, and email marketing channels.
  • Analytical mindset to track, assess, and report on the performance of campaigns and initiatives.


Physical Demands:

  • Work at computer workstation for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift/move 25-40 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed.

Compensation:  $55,000-65,000 annually commensurate with related experience
