HIRING RANGE
Salary range for this position is $84,694-$103,750. Hiring for this position is not expected to be above the mid-point unless experience qualified. Maximum salary for this pay grade is $122,806.
This is a full-time, year-round, exempt position.

ABOUT THE ROLE
At Core Transit, we’re dedicated to maintaining our reputation for providing reliable, safe, and community-focused transportation services. We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Operations & Demand Response Supervisor to oversee the daily management of our Fixed Route and Demand-Response services. This leadership role is essential for ensuring the execution of smooth daily operations and the delivery of exceptional service to our riders. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll take a hands-on approach to supervising teams, managing transit schedules, maintaining regulatory compliance, and enhancing ADA-compliant service delivery.
This position is not just about managing day-to-day operations but also contributing to the growth and evolution of our services. You will be actively involved in developing plans for improving paratransit and on-demand services, leveraging data for operational efficiency, and driving innovative strategies that respond to the needs of the community. KEY RESPONSABILITIES
- Supervise and mentor a team of professionals, including bus operators, dispatchers, and road supervisors, providing clear guidance, conducting performance reviews, and fostering professional growth.
- Oversee and manage daily schedules for operations staff, ensuring consistency in procedures and processes while responding quickly and effectively to operational challenges.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, placing special emphasis on adherence to ADA standards to provide accessible transportation for all riders.
- Develop and implement strategies for optimizing paratransit and demand-response services, collaborating with internal teams to enhance service delivery and efficiency.
- Collect, analyze, and manage operational data to ensure accurate reporting and drive informed decision-making processes aimed at continuous improvement.
- Respond to customer service complaints, promoting Core Transit’s values of reliability and quality service while enhancing the community’s perception of our transit offerings.
- Serve as Manager on Duty in the absence of the Operations Manager, maintaining smooth operations and handling escalated issues as needed.
- Assist with technology use and setup for drivers, including training on systems such as Routematch and FreshDesk, while supporting dispatch staff in maintaining paratransit schedules.
- Collaborate on planning and executing seasonal scheduling, trip sheet distribution, operator bidding processes, and organizing transportation for special community and event-related services.
- Manage inventory for uniforms and essential supplies, ensuring operators and the staff are well-equipped to perform their responsibilities.
- Facilitate regular discussions with the team on safety practices, public safety procedures, and compliance requirements to promote a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Improve paratransit service quality and efficiency by identifying gaps, mentoring staff, and mapping out long-term service improvements tailored to community needs.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with transit vehicle operations, maintenance, and system operating rules and regulations.
- Valid CDL license; ability to pass federal and state drug, alcohol, and medical screenings.
- Strong judgment, independence, and ability to identify hazardous situations.
- Familiarity with safety practices, public safety procedures, and relevant transit laws.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer technologies; skilled in data analysis and verification.
- Interest in new technologies and process improvement.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with staff, the public, and regulatory agencies.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Logical problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of general office practices, preferably in government settings.
- Bilingual skills (preferred).

LOCATION & COMMITMENTS
This opportunity is based in Gypsum, CO, with additional responsibilities requiring travel to other locations such as Avon, Vail, and Leadville as needed. The position is full-time, requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week. Given the nature of our operations, the schedule will include nights and weekends, with hours subject to operational demands.
Physical demands for this role include the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds as occasionally required, as well as the ability to move across varying terrains and endure outdoor work in adverse weather conditions such as rain, snow, or wind. This position blends office-based tasks with field responsibilities, requiring mobility to conduct site inspections, monitor employee performance, and respond to operational needs in real-time.
