WE ARE SEEKING: An IT Support Specialist to perform daily IT operations to minimize interruption due to computer hardware or software issues, while providing exemplary customer service to our end users. Please note: this is an on-site position located in our Berlin, Maryland corporate headquarters and is not a remote position.


YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Installation and setup of software and hardware on the network
  • Monitoring network performance, identifying potential issues, and assisting with network troubleshooting 
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with software, hardware and peripherals 
  • Providing first-line support to all end-users for network and system issues or questions  
  • Monitoring and prioritizing help desk tickets to provide resolution in a timely manner 
  • Managing user access and access levels across the organization
  • Educating users on cybersecurity best practices and following security protocols
  • Reviewing and monitoring email and end user internet access for impropriety and security issues
  • Reporting potential security concerns to the IT Manager
  • Responding to daily alerts generated by various systems and escalating as necessary
  • Collaborating with teammates to complete IT and other department projects as needed
  • Providing assistance with application and system updates and backups as needed
  • Collaborating with vendors to provide support and remediation for system issues
  • Assisting with performing annual disaster recovery testing
  • Participating in rotational weekend on call, and providing after-hours support if needed
  • Further IT duties as assigned

YOU SHOULD HAVE:

  • Associate’s degree in information systems, computer science, or related field required. 
  • At least two (2) years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Advanced level ability in the Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint required.
  • Advanced understanding of the internet and internet security.

  • This is a non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime pay. We also have a discretionary bonus plan, subject to company performance.
