Assists the manager in the technical aspects of the areas of responsibility. This may include, but not be limited to, advanced technical knowledge of the instrumentation in the areas of responsibility, monitoring quality control and maintaining operations of the areas of responsibility.
This position is Full-time, 2pm-10:30pm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for orientation and training of staff in areas of responsibility.
- May supply feedback on staff to manager.
- May recommend performance ratings of subordinate staff to manager.
- Helps to maintain excellent customer service to patients and providers
- Responds to complaints
- Troubleshoots instrument or testing issues
- Ensures quality is maintained within the department
- Ensures regulatory compliance over areas of responsibility
- Technical aspects of testing performed on site.
- Skilled in troubleshooting issues for areas of responsibility.
- Proficiency testing oversight for areas of responsibility.
- May be required to resolve technical problems in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Functions as liaison, in a collaborative manner, between lab and hospital personnel.
- Perform chart audits to verify results are being logged on the chart.
- Function as liaison between lab and hospital personnel, working to improve communication and workflow.
- Ability to deal with stressful situations. Must have the ability to determine priorities.
- Interacts with others in a collaborative manner and functions as a team player.
- Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- BS in Chemistry or related field.
- EPIC software is preferred
- 3+ years working in as a Chemistry Med-Tech, preferably in a hospital lab.
- Experience as a Med Tech Coordinator in a Clinical Laboratory a plus.
- Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Blood Bank is preferred.
