Job Summary:
The Student Radiologic Technologist takes radiographic images while performing a diagnostic imaging examination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assesses patient and their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements.
- Explains and prepares the patient for all radiographic procedures.
- Interviews patients and reviews available clinical data from charts in order to alert nurses and/or physicians to possible contradictions for procedure.
- Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and effects of disease processes to properly and safety position the patient for maximum diagnostic yield.
- Maintains radiographic equipment and x-ray rooms in proper working condition. Reports malfunctions and necessary repairs to supervisory personnel.
- Checks stock inventory and initiates orders.
- Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety and specific job-related hazards.
- Communicates with providers on types of x-rays that can be done at JVCHC.
- Downloads reports and distributes them daily.
- Keep disc for records storage.
- Orders UPT as needed on female patients.
- Must have working knowledge of electronic medical records and how to navigate within the system to retrieve material.
Health Requirements:
All employees are required to provide proof of vaccination for Flu, Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis (TB) as part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.

Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an ARRT accredited School of Radiological Technology as a senior student.
- Successful completion of all freshman clinical competencies.
