Description
Directs the accounting and control functions, reporting the results of operations and provides chronological systems; but not limited to directing the organization’s financial planning, and financial relations with lending institutions, major funders, and the financial community.
- Develops and implements accounting policies, coordination of systems and procedures, and the preparation of operating data and special reports as required including interim and year-end financial statements. Maintains the company's system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets.
- Establishes, coordinates and administers as an integral part of management, an adequate plan for the control of operations including, profit planning, programs for capital investing and financing, financial forecasts, expense budgets and cost standards, together with necessary controls and procedures to effectuate the plan.
- In conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer and President, coordinates, reviews and endorses budget proposals, discusses proposed changes and significant changes.
- Compares performance with operating plans and standards and reports and interprets the results of operations to all levels of management.
- Directs activities such as custodian of funds and the assets of the organization.
- Directs procedures and computer application systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services.
- Establishes and administers tax policies and procedures.
- Supervises or coordinates the preparation of reports to government agencies.
- Analyzes, consolidates, and directs all cost-accounting procedures together with other statistical and routine reports.
- Directs and coordinates the establishment of budget programs.
- Assures protection for the assets of the business through internal control, internal auditing and assuring proper insurance coverage.
- Supervises payroll and ensures that all employees are paid accurately and timely, and that all governmental policies are adhered to.
- Analyzes operational issues impacting functional groups and the whole institution and determines their financial impact.
- Evaluates and recommends business partnering opportunities.
- Establishes and maintains contacts with funders, financial institutions, and lenders.
- Provides advice on all matters to the Chief Financial Officer and the President.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
- 5-10 years of related accounting experience
- Knowledge of computer systems and accounting software
- Communication, supervisory, and teamwork skills
Salary Description
$120,000.00
