Job Summary

Provide quality meals and snacks as directed for all age groups at the site. The Chef will abide by and encourage all compliance and health/safety regulations while maintaining cleanliness, organization, timeliness, and attention to detail. In addition, the Chef will be responsible for food for special events as directed, as well as maintain accurate production records, allergy lists and special dietary needs of each child within the site. 

Summary of essential job functions

  • Daily and Event menu planning
  • Record keeping of allergies and special dietary restrictions
  • Record daily meal count and required food components on Production Records
  • Maintain coffee bar
  • Update Nutrition Board monthly
  • Responsible daily for mixing the required sanitizing solutions for the site
  • Order and inventory stock
  • Exceptional cooking skills that will present children with home-baked goods, hands-on snacks, daily breakfast/lunch/afternoon snacks
  • Working with Manager of Health & Nutrition, as well as other members of the Children’s paradise team to help execute both daily and special operations.
Requirements

 Minimum Requirements

  • Knowledge and practice of CACFP meal pattern guidelines
  • At least 1-2 years of culinary experience? 
  • Must have Food Handlers Card

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods 
  • Ability to safely lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds to support with movement of materials and supplies
  • Ability to bend or squat as needed
