Four Star Seafood is hiring a Director of Sales Development to lead and inspire a team of Sales professionals that plays an integral role in leading our company’s growth by building our core business, identifying new business opportunities, developing new relationships, and managing existing customer relationships.
This role will set the pace and tone of Four Star Seafood’s client relationships, prospecting efforts, creating meaningful engagements that help strengthen talent strategies. You will partner closely with the Sales Departments and Executive Leadership to develop and execute winning sales strategies, set team wide goals and exceed team and individual quota attainment.

Responsibilities:
- Manage, mentor, develop, and drive the performance of the Account Management and Sales Development teams.
- Recruit, hire, train, coach and develop sales teams to meet and exceed the Company's goals, team quota and individual quotas.
- Provide mentorship and development for the sales teams, promoting individual growth, and preparing team members for career progression.
- Act as a trusted resource for sales teams and business accounts, understand their needs, process roadblocks, and provide support and guidance through frequent check-ins.
- Partner with internal departments and generate data analysis and determine training curriculum needs, goals, and deliverables.
- Analyze current outreach and opportunity generation practices, immerse yourself in team metrics, and identify areas for improvement at scale.
- Collaborate with the Sales Teams, Ownership, Operations, and Marketing to optimize lead volume and quality, deliver a healthy pipeline of qualified outbound leads, and exceed outbound pipelines and Annual Recurring Revenue (“ARR”) targets, improving the Company's ARR Plan, team quota, and individual quotas.
- Collaborate closely with Ownership, Marketing, and cross-functional demand generation stakeholders to develop and execute on lead generation campaigns, improving marketing, and conversion rates of leads to sales opportunities that exceed inbound pipelines and ARR targets.
- Proactively develop new strategies and tactics to accelerate pipeline growth each quarter.
- Strategize with the Ownership, Operations, HR, and the Finance team on headcount planning, pipeline targets, sourced ARR, team quota, and individual quotas.
- Demonstrate strategic thinking to drive higher lead conversion, accelerate ARR, and reduce ramp time for new hires.
- Through continuous process improvement, contribute to the team growth and success of the broader Sales team.
- Generate revenue by selling, managing, and developing existing client relationships while understanding client needs, tailoring customer solutions through consultative selling.
- Maintain hyper focus on identifying opportunities in a customer’s environment and develop a business-orient point of view that compels them to trust Four Star Seafood to solve it.
- Foster and accelerate strong partnerships to expand market coverage, awareness, and penetration of company accounts.
- Responsible for increasing sales and account penetration by analyzing current sales, volume, planning sales calls, presentations, and follow-up.
- Conduct business in a way that represents Four Star Seafood’s passion for high quality, sustainable food, and our company values.
If you would like to join our dynamic team, you will bring the following traits to the position:
- 8+ years of sales leadership experience driving new business ARR for a high-growth business.
- 5+ years managing Sales Development Representatives and 3+ years leading as a 2nd line people leader.
- Knowledge and experience in the Seafood industry or culinary industry HIGHLY PREFERRED.
- Proven success leading and growing sales teams, developing multi-quarter and multi-channel strategies, and exceeding the company's ARR Plan, team quota, and individual quotas.
- Experience building and leading teams with 10+ people in a fast-paced, wholesale environment.
- Proven record of sales success and possess strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Strong ability to identify and communicate organizational roadblocks with ability to resolve them proactively.
- Demonstrates high level of personal accountability and drives accountability with the team.
- Keen financial acumen and business judgement and thrives in a dynamic environment.
- Experience meeting the expectations, beating your targets, and unpacking the root causes and variables that led to your team's successes and areas of improvement.
- Robust analysis and reporting skill set with detailed knowledge of sourcing, prospecting, and outreach technologies.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment that requires the ability to work independently and adaptively, anticipate and mitigate friction points, and take initiative to promptly resolve and learn from challenges.
Work Hours and Travel:
This is a full-time, salaried exempt position that is responsible for the sales teams in the S.F. Bay area and the Los Angeles area. Travel is required to both markets and requires 30% - 50% travel, depending on business needs. This role is expected to help facilitate collaboration and have face time with teams and clients.
Compensation and Benefits:
This is a salary exempt position with performance-based pay. Pay includes a base pay with a Commission Plan. OTE range is $125,000 - $350,000 annually. Employee benefits are available for all qualifying full-time employees, including paid time off, medical, vision, and dental insurance. In addition, employees receive fresh seafood products and company merchandise at cost plus 10%.
