Dock Solutions Director
Description

The Dock Solutions Director is responsible for developing, building, and project managing the Dock Solutions and Industrial Power divisions at Bailey. They directly manage regional Dock Solutions Managers and other Industrial Solutions staff, and collaborate closely with regional directors, service management, customer support, sales, and the Intralogistics department. This is an intrapreneurial role that involves business development, sales, service management, project management, and process improvement, and requires regional travel. Given this person’s skillset, project management and support of other company efforts and initiatives may be required at times, especially in the areas of customer support and aftermarket sales. The Dock Solutions Director reports to the VP of Intralogistics.  


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 


Strategy, Planning & Program Development 

  • Define strategy, go-to-market and implementation motion for Bailey’s Dock Solutions and Industrial Power divisions, including solution prioritization, partner strategy, and operational plan. 
  • Develop and execute a Dock Solutions and Industrial Power technician hiring and training plan, in conjunction with company directors, the HR team, and service management.   
  • Develop an effective training program that encompasses vendor and in-house training for sales staff, Dock Solutions Managers, and service technicians. 
  • Work with Marketing to build awareness and generate leads for Dock Solutions and Industrial Power; lead pricing and promotion of products and services. 
  • Collaborate with Finance and IT to develop reporting and software for the program. 
  • Procure proper tools, vehicles, and supplies for the Dock Solutions and Industrial Power service technician teams to be safe, effective, and successful. 
  • Collaborate with Intralogistics and supports their service programs as needed, when it makes sense (installations, after install service, etc.). 
  • Develop and manage partnerships and relationships with solutions providers, suppliers, subcontractors, and referral partners. 

Leadership, Management & Team Development 

  • Manage regional Dock Solutions Managers, driving sales to hit revenue targets and ensuring strong management of technicians and projects to achieve expected profit margins. 
  • Lead a strong service department that hits Dock Solution & Industrial Power technician targets (billing efficiency, productivity, etc.), directly managing technicians as required. 
  • Complete regular ride-alongs and one on one training sessions with CSRs, sales staff, and Dock Solutions Managers. 

Sales, Execution & Project Management 

  • Support and train CSRs and sales staff, driving Industrial Power and Dock Solutions sales and leads, as well as aftermarket and service sales (second segment sales, PMs, etc.). 
  • Project manage Dock Solutions accounts as needed to ensure profitability and success. 
  • Coordinate and lead Dock Solutions projects directly as needed. 
  • Generate leads and develop new business in conjunction with the sales and intralogistics teams.  
  • Sell, execute, and/or project manage the Dock Solutions and Industrial Power projects, services, and products. 
  • Support the Industrial Vehicle (MHCs and CSRs) and Intralogistics (WSCs) teams in hitting new business, market share, and revenue targets. 

Additional Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Project manage other initiatives and projects, and handle additional tasks and responsibilities, as assigned.
Requirements

Education/Training/Experience: 

  • College Degree, with degree in business management or engineering preferred 
  • MBA (preferred) 
  • 5+ years of experience in dock and door, service operations, construction, program management, industrial engineering, or project management 
  • 2+ years in general, project, or program management 
  • Technical or mechanical background (preferred) 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: 

  • Auto-CAD (preferred) 
  • Knowledge of dock and door, material handling equipment, construction, and/or warehouse optimization 
  • Great communication skills (written and verbal) 
  • Proven project management skills 
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel capabilities 
  • Outstanding research and analytical abilities
