Assistant, Programs & Data
Chicago
Description

Internship Timeframe: June 2nd - August 8, 2025

DUTIES: LINK Unlimited Scholars’ primary summer program, Summer Learning, runs from June 30th through August 8th, providing academic enrichment, career exploration, and college preparation for Scholars in grades 7-12. The program includes core coursework, job shadowing, ACT/SAT test prep, and dual enrollment opportunities.

Assistants will play a key role in the overall coordination of Summer Learning by supporting daily operations, ensuring seamless transitions between activities, and tracking attendance. They will engage Scholars through the facilitation of group activities, such as icebreakers and interactive sessions, while also helping to maintain structure and focus during class time to ensure a smooth and enriching experience for all participants.

Logistical support will be a key component of the role, requiring interns to communicate with host sites, confirm scheduling details, and oversee transportation arrangements for off-site trips. They will serve as bus monitors and provide assistance to ensure scholars arrive at their destinations safely and on time. Additionally, interns will assist with setting up and breaking down learning spaces, supporting both classroom instruction and extracurricular activities.

Another key responsibility for interns will be data collection and management. They will design and administer weekly surveys to gather feedback on Scholar experiences, compiling both quantitative and qualitative data for analysis. Interns will also use Salesforce to track attendance and generate reports, providing insights into program effectiveness, Scholar engagement, and opportunities for improvement.

Assistants will participate in approximately 5 hours per week of professional development facilitated by Origami Works Foundation and The Cleveland Avenue Foundation for Education (The CAFÉ).  Participants gain practical insights and develop professional skills through targeted training and mentorship, preparing them to be the next generation of change-makers.

TO APPLY: First-generation college students are strongly encouraged to apply.  A cover letter and resume will be required with the application.  In your cover letter, please note if you have a previous affiliation with LINK.
