Responsibilities

I. JANITORIAL

  1. Clean offices, bathrooms and common areas on a daily schedule.
  2. Empty wastebaskets, including sanitary napkin receptacles
  3. Mop and disinfect floors
  4. Clean and disinfect sinks, mirrors, toilets, urinals and piping
  5. Check/restock soap and paper supplies
  6. Spot clean walls and ceiling
  7. Clean and dust phones, computers, printers, etc.
  8. Clean lobbies, entrances and corridors
  9. Wash door glass
  10. Clean light fixtures
  11. Clean and disinfect drinking fountains
  12. Replace lamps in interior and exterior lighting fixtures as needed
  13. Sweep and mop steel stairwells
  14. Vacuum corridor carpeting
  15. Steam-extract carpeting
  16. Clean/polish window glass and elevator panels
  17. All tiled floors are to be stripped, sealed, and waxed as appropriate

II. SUPPLIES

  1. Monitor cleaning supplies & request re-supply as needed
  2. Parts and supplies – occasional trips to hardware store as needed with your vehicle

III. APARTMENT TURNOVERS

  1. Review unit work required with Building Manager 
  2. Paint or touch-up as required
  3. Perform final clean after repairs, as necessary
  4. Move/replace furniture as necessary

IV. GROUNDSKEEPING

  1. Snow removal as needed – also in conjunction with other Maintenance staff
  2. Landscaping tasks: weed control; annual plantings; general maintenance

V. MISCELLANEOUS

  1. Set up and take down chairs and table for property functions; move furniture as directed for events

Skills/Knowledge/Job Requirements

  1. Must be able to read and write legibly in English.
  2. Must be able to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures.
  3. Must be able to verbally communicate information to customers and other employees.
  4. Must demonstrate effective communication skills with residents, families, staff and other service providers.
  5. Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of safety practices, procedures and maintenance.
  6. Responsible to perform occasional work at other Company properties as requested by Management.
  7. On call for emergencies.
