JOB SUMMARY:
Provides professional nursing care for clinic/office patient within the scope of regulations outlined in the New Mexico Nurse Practice Act.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Obtain and document patient vital signs.
• Perform testing such as oximetry, glucometry, urinalysis and other tests when requested per practitioner.
• Educate patient as directed.
• Perform clerical duties as needed.
• Administer medications and/or injections, prescribed procedures with instruction to patient.
• Maintain patient care areas.
• Monitor pharmacy area.

• As outlined in the New Mexico Nurse Practice Act.
AGE-RELATED COMPETENCIES: Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify age-specific patient needs appropriate for this position.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
* Education – graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
* Work Experience – at least one year experience providing direct patient care, physician clinic setting preferred.
* Training – N/A
* License/Certification – New Mexico RN/LPN license. BLS certified.
ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS: Work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids.
