Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled SQL Developer with 5 or more years of experience to join the Futuro Health team. In this role, you will play a critical part in developing, optimizing, and maintaining our SQL-based data solutions, enabling efficient student processing, reporting, data analysis, and business insights. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to create robust and scalable database systems that support the needs of Futuro Health’s strategic initiatives.
Essential Job Functions:
- Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and views to support various business applications, reports, and data-driven insights.
- Work closely with analysts, web developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective database solutions.
- Ensure the performance, integrity, and security of our SQL-based databases across multiple platforms, including cloud environments.
- Perform database design, normalization, and indexing to support data scalability and operational efficiency.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve database performance issues, providing optimization strategies to enhance speed and efficiency.
- Create and maintain clear and concise documentation for database schemas, queries, and processes to ensure transparency and future scalability.
- Participate in regular code reviews and adhere to best practices for database development and security.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in SQL technologies and industry trends to continuously improve database performance and capabilities.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and resolving database-related issues.

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in SQL development or related roles.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, including advanced and efficient querying, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
- Experience optimizing query performance, troubleshooting slow queries, and implementing indexing strategies.
- Expertise with relational databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Deep understanding of database design, normalization, indexing, and optimization techniques.
- Ability to work with large datasets and perform data migrations, transformations, and integrations.
- Familiarity with ETL tools and processes, data warehousing, and business intelligence reporting.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in designing and optimizing SQL queries for real-time, high-performance web applications.
- Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation tasks.
- Experience in the healthcare or education sector is a plus, especially in data-related roles.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Supervisory Responsibility: This role does not have supervisory responsibility over staff.
Work Environment/Travel: This is a remote role. Travel will also be required to attend meetings and conferences.
Physical Demands: Able to sit, stand, and type for long periods of time. Ability to work irregular hours including after hours and weekends although this will be infrequent. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Position Type: This position is full-time, exempt. The hours may include weekends, nights and holidays.
