Preschool Ministry Associate
Description

      

Kids Ministry Leadership (~30%)

  • Assist in   leading the Elementary Ministry (K-5) to implement the mission of NPHX   Church: Reaching & equipping kids with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • Create a fun,   high-energy, engaging environment where kids love to learn about Jesus and   families feel safe and connected.
  • Directly   oversee Elementary weekend services, including volunteer scheduling,   curriculum development, and programming.
  • Partner with   parents to equip kids with the Gospel and support spiritual growth at home.
  • Help develop   and execute an annual calendar of events, including family events and   VBS/Summer Camps..
  • Follow up with   new families to connect them to ministry and NPHX Church.
  • Work retention   strategies for families who have not attended consistently to shepherd them   back into the ministry.
  • Ensure all   policies and procedures are in place for a safe and secure ministry   environment.
  • Help prepare   and manage a portion of the ministry budget related to Elementary   programming.
  • Collaborate with other ministries to create   smooth transitions from Preschool to Elementary, Elementary to Preteen   Ministry, Preteen to Student Ministry.

Volunteer Development (~40%)

  •  Recruit, train,   and equip volunteers to lead effectively in Elementary Ministry.
  •  Identify and   empower high-capacity volunteer leaders who can build and lead teams.
  •  Oversee   engaging small group experiences that support the weekend ministry   environment.
  •  Ensure that   small group environments are inclusive and welcoming for all kids, including   those with special needs.
  •  Manage volunteer retention to ensure   consistency and longevity in the ministry.

Curriculum Development (~10%)

  •  Assist in   reviewing, selecting, modifying, and/or writing age-appropriate curriculum   for K-5 ministry.
  •  Equip volunteers with the necessary resources   to lead small groups and classroom experiences effectively.

Ministry Planning & Operations (~10%)

  •  Help execute   weekend services and midweek programming for K-3 and Preteen Ministry   (4th-5th grade).
  •  Ensure that all   ministry environments are fun, safe, and engaging.
  •  Assist in   managing an annual calendar of ministry events and family engagement   opportunities.
  •  Assist with   administrative tasks, including communication, scheduling, and event   coordination.
  •  Partner with the Kids Pastor to create smooth transitions   between Preschool, K-3, and Preteen Ministry.

Personal Growth & Development (~5%)

  • Continue   growing in faith through personal study, prayer, and discipleship.
  • Develop   leadership skills through mentorship, training, and conferences.
  • Stay informed about best practices in   children’s ministry to improve effectiveness.

Church & Ministry Involvement (~5%)

  • Be an active   part of Sunday worship services and the NPHX Church community.
  • Support   church-wide events, trainings, and outreach initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with other NPHX Church   staff and ministries to ensure unity and alignment.
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION (SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, & EDUCATION)

  

  •  Committed Christian living a life of obedience, with beliefs consistent with NPHX Church’s statement of faith.
  •  Must become a member of NPHX Church.
  •  At least 6 months of experience working in children's ministry, early childhood education, or a similar setting that helps young children grow in their faith.
  •  Ability to engage and disciple preschool-aged children through a Christ-centered, biblically-based environment.
  •  Strong leadership skills with the ability to recruit, train, and equip volunteers.
  •  Ability to develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum (experience with Orange Family Ministry preferred).
  •  Highly relational—able to connect with young children, parents, and volunteers in various settings.
  •  Strong organizational and communication skills to effectively lead ministry programming.
  •  Knowledgeable in child development and early childhood education principles.
  •  Must possess strong communication and computer skills and be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher.
  •  Ability to prioritize workflow, multitask, and handle confidential information responsibly.
  •  Self-motivated with a commitment to excellence in ministry.
  • Ability to effectively manage conflict or sensitive situations with grace and wisdom.
