Position Summary:
Our System Service Technician will work alongside a team of ABEC Service technicians to install/modify an agreed scope of work on a Customer facility. This will be done in accordance with the approved safety practices of the specific facility and in line with the agreed works schedule. The technician will ensure work is completed efficiently and professionally, assist with troubleshooting and quoting efforts, and keep management updated on team performance and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinates with Customer representatives to establish clear expectations for the project/scope of work.
- Assist the Project Management team with scoping and potential hours for projects in bid stage.
- Effectively manages preparation for mobilizing to a Customer facility and in carrying out the works in a professional manner.
- Ensures that all ABEC team members work in a safe and respectful manner in accordance with the approved Safe Plan of Action and Project RAMS.
- Completes work in compliance with all safety policies, quality practices & productivity expectations applicable to the work being performed.
- Provides real-time guidance to Team Members to address any issues affecting completion of planned work assignments (technical, procedural, material-related, etc.).
- Reports project needs, material requirements, and any planning & scheduling issues that are affecting planned work activities to ABEC Project Manager.
- Maintains and promotes communication with and among team members to ensure common understanding of purpose, methods and progress toward committed goals.
- Interacts as necessary with Customer on site to provide daily progress reports, and to discuss and resolve any issues arising which may affect the progress/completion of the works.
- Participates (if required) in multi-discipline project meetings, design reviews, or other similar meetings as may be required to share important information for co-ordination of project works.
- Ensures that all ABEC Plant & Equipment is maintained in good, safe working order and all certification is up to date.
- Upon completion of on-site works will walk down systems with Customer, agree closeout of any defects, sign-off and handover systems.
- Execute other tasks as assigned.
- Ability to travel when required, up to 80% (some local).
- Experience in Mechanical Assembly
- Typical work is in a manufacturing environment or customer’s site.
- Required to stand for long periods of time and may involve heavy manual labour.
- You will need to be able to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, reach, lift, push, pull,
and carry items. Exposure to loud noises. - Ability to wear personal protective equipment.
- Awareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) a plus.
- Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus
- Prior electrical assembly work a plus
