Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal part in transforming complex data into actionable insights. The Senior BI Analyst will report to the Manager of Data Science and BI at Healthrise and support the design, development, and implementation of high-quality BI solutions that align with our corporate goals. This position requires a highly skilled, data-driven professional with a deep understanding of Tableau, data visualization principles, and data analysis methodologies. The ideal candidate has extensive experience working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders across all organizational levels and has a strong ability to communicate complex analyses to technical and non-technical audiences. Through the development of innovative and insightful dashboards, this role is integral in ensuring informed decision making for internal stakeholders and clients.
Additionally, this role requires the ability to mentor other team members, ensure best practices in Tableau development and deployment are being followed, and help foster a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.
Healthrise operates in the Microsoft technology stack, Azure services, and Tableau. We leverage an Agile/Scrum development process.
Duties and Responsibilities
Advanced Data Visualization Development:
- Design and develop complex, interactive dashboards and visualizations using Tableau with large datasets, adhering to best practices in design and user experience.
- Apply advanced Tableau functionality, including parameters, sets, LODs, with a heavy focus on optimized workbook performance, to deliver scalable and insightful solutions.
Data Analysis
- Conduct thorough data validation, transformation, and exploratory data analysis to ensure accuracy, reliability, and readiness for visualization.
Data Management:
- Partner with data engineering teams to validate and optimize datasets, support the ETL process, and publish data sources to Tableau Server or other shared environments.
Project Management and Documentation:
- Manage timelines, document processes, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Document and maintain comprehensive metric definitions, workbook calculations, and data architecture to ensure seamless knowledge transfer and workbook accessibility.
- Lead the creation and enhancement of standardized workflows and best practices.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Requirement Gathering:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data services, software engineers, and end users. Lead requirement-gathering sessions to fully understand operational needs, translating them into clear data strategies and meaningful solutions aligned with revenue and business objectives.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Continuously explore and recommend enhancements to BI solutions, working closely with team leads and management to drive workflow innovation and optimize analytics capabilities.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and innovation, staying up to date with emerging trends in Tableau and reporting development.
- Support data literacy and dashboard adoption initiatives across the organization.
Mentorship and Leadership:
- Provide guidance and mentorship to other BI analysts, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
- Ensure best practices in dashboard development are followed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or Economics, Data Engineering, or a related field
- Ability to distill complex data into actionable narratives for executive leadership
- Excellent understanding of the principles of good data visualization and dashboard design
- 3+ years of experience developing dashboards in Tableau
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges and deliver innovative solutions
- SQL or python skills a plus
