HR Generalist

Job Title: Human Resources Generalist Reports To: Manager of HR 

Classification: Non-Exempt Pay Range: 25.27/ hr- 35.00/ hr

Job Summary:

This role will be supporting many facets of HR at Feldmeier, to include recruiting and onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance. This is a unique opportunity to get experience with the entire employee life cycle, from recruiting to separation and everything in between. 

Essential Functions of Position:

  • Engage with employees, and first-line supervisors to provide day-to-day HR support and navigation of established policies and      procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal hiring managers and HR Management to update established position descriptions; review content to      follow legal and regulatory requirements; ensure duties, qualifications, and requirements are essential for the scope of the position.
  • Conduct interviews and facilitate the selection process.
  • Ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new hires.
  • Assist with time and attendance through timecard administration.
  • Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks such as garnishments, unemployment processing, employee references for mortgages and other salary confirmation requests.
  • Address employee concerns and provide guidance on HR-related matters.
  • Assist managers in responding to associate questions regarding time/attendance, benefits, policies, accommodations, and leaves of absences.
  • Help administer employee benefits program and assist employees with benefits-related inquiries.
  • Coordinate open enrollment processes.
  • Manage employment termination and offboarding processes. Support supervisors with involuntary separation meetings.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
Requirements

  

Minimum Qualifications:

 A minimum of 2 years of Human Resources Generalist or Specialist experience performing the following functions: staffing/recruitment, employee relations, and benefits administration required.

 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Must be willing to travel locally and overnight up to 25% of the time

  Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Previous experience with Paylocity, payroll software.

Physical Requirements: 

· Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per day.

· The ability to work on a computer for up to 8 hours a day.

· Must be able to work in a high stress ever changing environment.

· Occasional lifting, carrying, and maneuvering up to 25 pounds. 

· Ability to climb stairs, and walk the shop floor

· Being mindful of safety and use proper PPE when required. 

Salary Description
$ 25.27- $ 35.00 per hour
