Description
SFI is looking for a Jr. Systems Analyst to join our team. The right candidate will help manage, monitor, and secure AWS systems for a government customer and enjoy learning new tools/systems and processes.
Summary of Major Job Functions
- Triages and identifies causes for application and system-level incidents from FMCSA stakeholders and ensures that service requests are fulfilled in an efficient and timely manner.
- Monitor existing resources within the AWS cloud environments, regularly review and update resource attributes to confirm readability and accuracy as well as identify areas for optimization.
- Collaborate with other business and IT professionals, including federal and state customers, developers, and engineers.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Tailor and monitor alerts for application and system availability and performance using WhatsUp Gold and AWS Synthetic Canaries.
- Maintain existing resource attributes for AWS inventory.
- Utilize AWS services to identify potential process and system improvements.
- Apply software patches or configuration changes to address security issues on Windows or Linux servers and systems.
- Perform or coordinate storage clean-up activities on servers.
- Install releases in both non-production and production environments.
- Work to resolve tier 2 and tier 3 tickets, including system and application-level outages with support as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of IT experience with an associate degree or 5 years or more of IT experience without a degree.
- 1+ years in a customer support role.
- 1+ years of support in an AWS cloud environment with basic knowledge of S3, EC2, RDS, VPC and CloudWatch services in AWS.
- 1+ years of experience with Windows and/or Linux servers.
- Proven ability to learn and adapt to multiple applications and environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to explain complex IT solutions in technical and non-technical fashion.
- Strong desire to learn new things and continually improve oneself and the applications supported with a positive attitude.
- Flexible schedule with ability to work after core business hours for deployments or production outages.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Basic understanding of site certificates/renewals and CSR creations.
- Basic knowledge of querying databases.
- 2+ years of experience with AWS CloudWatch.
- 2+ years of Windows and/or Linux experience.
- Understanding of network infrastructures, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Ability to work in a flexible and fluid environment.
- Experience with IT Service Management tools, e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, etc.
Certifications
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner

Other Information
- The salary for this position is $50,000 - $75,000 annually
- This role offers a flexible work arrangement, primarily remote with the understanding that occasional on-site presence may be required to support client needs
