This internship is a 12-Week Summer Program in Orlando, Florida

Join our dynamic team as an Intern for the Summer 2025 program. This 12-week internship offers hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations and AI applications within a Department of Defense context. Interns will engage in departmental shadowing, project work, and leadership development, gaining comprehensive skills essential for high-stakes environments. This role requires proactive participation, timely project completion, and adherence to data protection protocols. Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Participate in shadowing sessions across various departments: Human Resources, Contracting, Finance and Accounting, Business Development, Joint Staff Programs, and more.
  • Submit detailed summaries, recommendations, and Q&A notes after each shadowing session.
  • Design, develop, and prototype an AI-driven cognitive monitoring system for military applications.
  • Conduct research, conceptualization, initial design, software development, testing, troubleshooting, optimization, and final presentation of projects.
  • Engage in weekly updates and formal review sessions to discuss progress and receive feedback.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions with existing cybersecurity infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
  • Implement cybersecurity measures in the development of AI projects to ensure data integrity and security compliance.
  • Perform independent research on AI advancements relevant to cybersecurity and defense, focusing on areas such as Generative AI, chatbot technology, and AI in warfare.
  • Participate in peer reviews of code and project deliverables to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
  • Complete DISC personality training to enhance interpersonal communication and leadership skills.
  • Adhere to best practices for data security, including data encryption, password management, and avoiding common security threats.
  • Regularly back up important project data to provided external drives and authorized cloud storage solutions.

Requirements

  

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, R, C, C++, JavaScript, Julia, and familiarity with artificial intelligence concepts.
  • Experience with CI/CD workflows (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) to automate testing, integration, and deployment.
  • Familiarity with large-scale data pipelines and real-time data streaming (e.g., Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis).
  • Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) for scalable, resilient deployments.
  • Experience with tools like Visual Studio Code, Docker, VirtualBox, GitLab, and relationship trackers (e.g., HubSpot, Trello).
  • Knowledge of cloud storage platforms such as AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage, IBM Cloud Object Storage, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Experience with C/C++ or Rust for high-speed processing tasks.
  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, and scikit-learn
  • Appreciation for low-latency requirements in mission-critical or real-time applications
  • Familiarity with GPU computing (CUDA) or parallel processing libraries (OpenMP, MPI) for computationally intensive operations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to diverse communication styles and environments.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
  • Commitment to ethical standards and data protection protocols.
  • Ability to commit up to 40 hours per week at our Orlando office.
  • Willingness to engage actively in all aspects of the program, including shadowing, project work, and training sessions.
  • Clear communication skills to articulate complex data solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
