Description

Due to our continued growth, Wright Manufacturing, Inc. (WMI), an award winning producer of commercial grade lawn equipment, is looking for committed people to join our machining team, assisting the department and team in the manufacture and building of some of the safest, most durable and highest quality lawn equipment in the world.


Hours: M-F 4:00 PM- 12:30 AM   *Overtime may be required on a daily or weekly basis


Essential Functions of a Laser Operator:

· Loading sheet metal onto laser cutter

· Operating the laser cutter using pre-set programming

· Make proper set-ups for cutting operations

· Utilize a hammer and/or other tools to separate cut parts from the rest of the scrap sheet metal

· Check parts for quality and accuracy

· Sorting and organization of parts

· Maintaining equipment, assisting with repairs as needed

· Organizing and cleaning the laser cutting area

· Ensure quality standards and processes are used throughout the facility

· Ensure safety guidelines are being met to assure a safe work environment

· Proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment

Requirements

Requirements of Machining- Laser Operators:

· Strong attention to detail

· Solid computer skills

· Able to use a tape measure in both metric and inches/feet

· High mechanical aptitude

· Competence with basic hand tools

· Coordinated with proficient motor skills and dexterity

· Able to work in a fast paced environment

· Demonstrate ability to work independently without daily supervision

· Able to effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English language.

· Ability to effectively interpret and translate instructions to other employees in a professional and respectful manner

· Ability to perform basic mathematical computations

· Basic problem solving skills

· Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. when required

· Ability to regularly stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

· Ability to work in an environment that is not climate controlled

· Ability to work in a moderate to high noise level environment

· Excellent attendance record


Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or GED required

· Ability to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniques

· One year of laser operator experience preferred
