Hinckley is actively looking for a CNC operator to work at our facility in Trenton, Maine, the CNC (Computer Numerical Control) operator's job involves programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to create precision parts and tools, while also ensuring quality, safety, and maintaining equipment.
Essential Duties:
1. Operating CNC Machines: Setting up and operating CNC machines (Komo and Thermwood) to produce parts according to blueprints and specifications.
2. Machine Setup and Maintenance: Preparing machines for operation, including loading materials, selecting tools, and making necessary adjustments.
3. Programming and Code: Understanding and utilizing CNC code and programming to guide machine operations.
4. Quality Control: Inspecting finished parts to ensure they meet dimensional and quality standards.
5. Blueprint Interpretation: Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to determine part specifications.
6. Tooling and Fixtures: Setting and loading tools and fixtures according to set-up instructions.
7. Record Keeping: Maintaining records of machine actions and production data.
8. Inventory Management: Planning stock inventory and ordering parts as needed.
9. Safety: Adhering to safety procedures and regulations in the work environment.
10. Basic Maintenance: Performing basic maintenance tasks on machines, such as changing collets, tool inserts, and maintaining coolant levels.
Shifts: 10AM-8PM or 5:30am to 3:30 Wednesday/Thursday through Sunday
- High school or general equivalency degree (GED) required.

Physical Requirements / Environmental Concerns:
Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, reach, twist, balance, climb, crouch, lift, push, and pull and work in confined/small spaces, handle and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions.
May require working under somewhat disagreeable working conditions on a frequent basis where elements such as dust, dirt, heat, fumes, cold, vibration, noise, water or chemicals may be present.
May be subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions.
Other Requirements:
· Requires flexibility to work various schedules that include early starts and weekends.
· Periodic overtime required.
