Driver/ Material Handler Packaging
Description

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be a team player.
  • Must be able to use a pallet jack.
  • Must be able to multi task.
  • Understands and supports all policies, procedures, instructions, rules, and regulations associated of Brook & Whittle and the Shipping/Receiving Warehouse Department
  •  Safely driving a 26’, 26,000 lb. straight box truck, primarily within 100 miles of the facility. 
  • Ability use an electric pallet jack and occasionally manual pallet jack to move pallets up to 2,000 lbs. while loading and unloading
  • the truck.
  • Maintaining the truck, fuel & DEF levels,, and keeping it clean.
  • Understanding weight distribution when loading the truck.
  • Must have general computer skills.
  • Maintain a neat organized and safe warehouse environment for all employees.
  • Understands and supports all policies, procedures, instructions, rules and regulations (including safety) associated with the Shipping/Receiving Warehouse Department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Must be able to efficiently maximize time making pickups and deliveries.


SECONDARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must assist in Packaging when not scheduled for deliveries.
  • Works with Press hall supervisors/Manager to insure proper employee training is provided.
  • Works in cross functional teams to make sure processes are robust enough to meet customer requirements.
  • Identify and help implement process improvements and increased productivity opportunities.

Requirements

EDUCATION:

Required:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).

Desired: Fork Lift Certified


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Being on feet for an extensive period of time while working
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Required:

  • Clean Driver’s license and at least one year of driving history.
  • Must be at least 25 years old.
  • The ability to be discreet with company confidential information, reports errors, incidents, and problems to appropriate  personnel.
  • Must have computer skills and an understanding of the current data collection system.
  • Must be able to follow and comprehend oral, written and/or visual instructions.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed weekdays and weekends when applicable.
  •  Must adhere to California meal break laws at all times - even when on the road.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be eligible to work in the United States without restriction

Salary Description
$22 - $27 per hour
