Description

The purpose of the HS Internship Program is to help students grow their passion and knowledge of architecture,

provide students with guidance, support and positive role models to enhance their academic, personal, and professional

development, ultimately increasing their chances of success in college, career and life.


The candidate(s) chosen for this program will develop their personal portfolio through a series of collegiate based

coursework that builds on the fundamentals of sketching, precedent analysis, programming, space planning and

schematic design. Students will also have the opportunity to visit construction sites and have in-the-field experience.

Requirements

Essential Functions:

  • Performs a wide variety of design related tasks under the supervision of the Architectural department.
  • Receives feedback and critiques, developing multiple schemes, research of site, materials, climate, etc.
  • Develops design skills related to pre-design and schematic design through a fast-paced series of projects.
  • Collaboration – Work closely with architects to grow as a designer and develop crucial problem-solving skills.
  • Communication – Effectively communicate ideas and results with Mentors through a variety of methods including sketching, writing, presentations and verbal communication.
  • Take ownership of task from concept to execution, taking feedback, communicating with appropriate team members and ensuring proper alignment.
  • Attend daily check-ins and weekly pin-ups.
  • Maintain journal
  • Must align with the companies values of being a Mindful Listener, Community Builder and Humble Warrior
  • Must have good time management skills
  • Willingness to present work to peers. Must be comfortable with public speaking

Key Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint) 
  • Experience with BIM industry software (Revit, Sketchup, Adobe, Enscape, TwinMotion) preferred

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Junior or Senior in High School
  • GPA 3.0 Minimum
  • Desire to pursue career in Architecture
  • Written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Business casual attire 
  • Must be able to work 24 hours per week minimum
  • Possess valid Driver’s License and access to reliable vehicle
  • Availability to work program time frame starting June 9th-Aug 8th, 2025 (Previously planned vacations are acceptable with advanced notification)


Physical Demands:

Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee must be able to access all components of workstation and other office equipment. Frequent typing, writing, bending and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.



Work Environment:

General office environment with moderate noise. This position is mostly sedentary, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. A busy environment with many unscheduled interruptions. Frequent computer use at workstation for extended periods of time. Public contact position requiring appropriate business apparel.


Salary Description
$15 per hour
