Hours: 40/week (On-site position)

Shift: Days, Monday through Friday, with alternating on-call rotation

WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR FCMCOur Clinical Informatics Analyst maintains and offers IT support for FCMC’s selected Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Combining knowledge of nursing and experience with informatics, some of this position’s vital responsibilities include:

  • Building and maintaining workflows, templates, schedules, order sets, and any other necessary components for the organization
  • Developing, presenting, and delivering training programs and materials to clinical staff for current and new technologies to facilitate best practices
  • Maintaining EHR user accounts and permissions, ensuring that permissions are appropriate per user role
  • Identifying problems, bugs, and deficiencies within the EHR and addressing these concerns with the EHR vendor as necessary
  • Assisting in the evaluation, design, and implementation of EHR
  • Maintaining point-of-care equipment and related contracts
  • Working as a liaison between FCMC’s clinical and IT staff to ensure appropriate IT and security practices are adhered to
  • Assist the IT department with standard support for all staff, including on-call


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience
  • IT or computer related education or experience
  • Working knowledge of nursing, healthcare safety, state and federal regulations, and regulatory processes
  • Proficiency with or the ability to learn FCMC’s EHR, medical equipment, and other technologies
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn other software as applicable
  • Proficiency in faxing and email and collaboration systems (e.g. 365, Google, Monday)
  • A service-minded work ethic with a drive to meet client care needs and a positive attitude when faced with ambiguity and change
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate
  • Ability to interact effectively with people from widely differing backgrounds
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral, in English
  • Interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail
  • A strong ability to analyze and problem solve
  • The ability to remain calm in challenging situations and serve as a role model for participants and other personnel


Essential Job Functions:

  • This is a safety-sensitive position
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required
  • Regularly required to sit, bend, stoop, and stretch, including prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment
  • Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports
  • Frequently able to lift or carry objects between 50-100 pounds
  • Must be able to access and navigate throughout the department within the organization’s facilities
  • Must be able to hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, especially during emergencies
  • Must comply with HIPAA and patient privacy
  • Must wear PPE as situations require and adhere to infection control policies and protocols


Work Environment:

  • This role works in the hospital setting
  • FCMC operates 24 hours per day each day of the year: operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the patients
  • Potential exposure to blood, body tissue, fluids, contagious diseases, and hazardous waste
  • Occasional exposure to bodily injury, loud or unpleasant noise, unpleasant odor, and emotional or physical stress 
  • May be required to work day or night in a confined environment or a variation of different temperatures
  • May work within close proximity to moving mechanical parts, with the potential to be exposed to electrical shock
  • May be required to travel to other facilities to obtain training/certification as necessary
