Description

Clinical Research Coordinators (CRC) report to the Director of Clinical Resources and support the mission of the organization by independently organizing and managing activities and tasks associated with the conduct of cancer clinical trials. 


The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification, however, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification. 

  1.  Provides overall coordination of the study aspects of patient care enrolled in cancer research studies through BASS Cancer Center       
  2. Assists   Principal Investigators in the identification, recruitment, and education of patients onto research studies as per HIPAA guidelines.
  3. Serves   as an educational resource to participating patients, physicians, and associate staff in cancer research.
  4. Demonstrates   knowledge and understanding of GCP guidelines and regulatory requirements to   maintain patient safety, confidentiality, and the integrity of the clinical   trial process.
  5. Demonstrates   behaviors that reflect quality, professionalism, teamwork and excellence.
  6. Responsible   for ensuring protocol adherence by understanding, communicating, and ensuring   the study parameters are ordered and carried out per protocol requirements.
  7. Responsible for screening potential patients which   includes obtaining HIPAA authorization, informed consent for the study, reviewing medical records to determine eligibility, communication with the investigator and patient re: additional tests to be completed.
  8. Prepare patient information for registration/randomization.
  9. Notify the investigator and patient of assigned treatment and coordinate treatment   start date.
  10. Obtain all required source documentation.
  11. Inform and educate the investigator and/or clinic staff regarding study drug administration   requirements, including required pre-medications, order of administration, monitoring time points, and the need for infusion start/stop times.
  12. Assist   the clinical research team in preparation for external audits.

Requirements

EDUCATION / TRAINING REQUIREMENTS 

  1.  High School or GED 

 LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS / REGISTRATION 

  1.  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university  

 EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 

  1. One year of experience   working in health research 
  2. One year of oncology   clinical trials experience 
  3. Complete all GCP training   and CTEP credentialing

The work   of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled medical   practice environment. Compensation will be based on experience 


Pay Scale/Ranges:

$38.00-$42.00/hour (and the hourly equivalent for salaried employees).*

*Employees actual pay rate will depend on a host of factors including, without limitation, job location, specialty, skillset, education, and experience. The patey scale/ranges shown are representative of the pay rates for the job title reflected above, but an employees actual pay rate will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
