JOB SUMMARY
The Greenhouse Grower Helper will carry out daily tasks of growing processes and addressing crop needs at the direction of team leaders and management. Assist Section Grower(s) in finishing crops on time, in the correct quantities, and according to internal harvest specifications.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide daily care to greenhouse plants including watering, weeding, fertilizing, and application of pesticides to control insects and disease under the supervision of the section grower(s)
- Prepare proper fertilizer and pesticide mixes as instructed by the section growers, lead grower and/or greenhouse grower manager.
- Assist in scouting for insects, tenting or removing tents from young plants, transplanting, pruning, and other routine greenhouse tasks as assigned
- Other duties as required by the section growers, lead grower, and grower manager
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Ability to wear chemical handling PPE and work in a warm and humid environment for extended periods.
- Ability to adapt/respond to various personalities.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
- Desire to work and thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

- A love of houseplants and/or desire to learn more about them.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent,
- Associate degree in Greenhouse, Horticulture, Botany, or related field preferred.
- 1+ years of relevant job experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate/bachelor's Degree preferred
- Two (2) years of relevant experience in an inventory control role
- Experience with computerized inventory systems is preferred
- Forklift operator certification required
- Use of computer software including: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work in conditions typically found in a greenhouse, including high humidity and varying temperatures.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to bend and reach to access materials.
- Ability to walk short distances throughout the workday.
