Description

 The Bilingual Translator role is critical in facilitating communication across language barriers within the production and training environment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in both English and Spanish and will provide translation services to enhance understanding and operational efficiency, particularly on the production floor.

The Bilingual Translator will assist with translating orientation materials, trainee proficiency verifications, interviews, stand-up meetings, and various training sessions, including NADCAP classes. A key responsibility will be translating for production assistants and platers to support their technical development and career growth. This role will also ensure smooth communication on the production line, ensuring our team has the tools and understanding they need to succeed. 

Requirements

 In This Role You Will:  

 

Translation Support:

  • Provide real-time translation on the production line to assist platers and production assistants with tasks, instructions, and training materials
  • Translate interviews 
  • Assist in the completion of trainee proficiency verifications
  • Translate and facilitate communication during stand-up meetings and other production-related discussions.

Training Assistance:

  • Assist in the translation of various training programs, ensuring employees have access to clear, understandable content in both languages.
  • Translate and support NADCAP classes, ensuring all technical and procedural materials are accurately conveyed.\

Production Floor Support:

  • Serve as the key language resource on the production line, helping employees understand complex technical instructions and fostering career advancement through effective communication.
  • Work closely with management to ensure language barriers do not hinder workflow or employee development.

Continuous Learning:

  • Stay updated on industry terminology and technical language to ensure accurate translations in a manufacturing context.
  • Collaborate with trainers and supervisors to identify areas where additional translation support is needed.

 Your knowledge, skills & abilities: 

  •  Fluent in both English and Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • Strong understanding of technical vocabulary, especially related to manufacturing processes and industry-specific terminology.
  • Ability to adapt to various communication styles and effectively translate in real-time, especially during fast-paced work situations.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse teams, including production staff and management.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree or specialized certification in translation preferred.
  • Proven experience as a bilingual translator in a manufacturing, technical, or training setting.
  • Experience translating technical language or working in production environments is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a training or teaching role.
