The Installation Technician works with other field team members to assemble and install fall protection systems while ensuring form, fit, function, product quality and regulatory compliance. The person needs to be technically proficient in duties and provide professional, dedicated service being in a front-line company position with customer engagements. The position requires frequent, and at times extended, periods of travel. This position will be empowered training to perform inspection of systems.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
This position contributes to the success of the company’s performance by:
- Installation of new or modified fall protection systems at customers’ facilities to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
- Set up, fastening and structural adaption of steel-based products.
- Performs assigned work functions as part of integrated installation team.
- Employs safe work practices both individually and in a work team, and implement work site controls to abate or minimize safety hazards.

This position requires an individual who is reliable, responsible and dependable to the duties, and as a company team member, with skills entailing:
- Demonstrated working experience with broad experience and knowledge of general construction, and especially at working at height.
- Experience with the safe use of power and hand tools.
- Read and interpret work plans and instructions at an intermediate level or above.
- Learn specific work functions work and be able to perform again without continuous instruction and sustained supervision.
- Good communication skills: ability to read and speak English fluently, understand and complete communications and forms required for work.
- Must work in a safe manner, with zero incidents as the goal.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in environmental conditions present.
- Must be able to work at heights attained by climbing and use of equipment.
- Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Must be able to travel regularly. Weekend work might be required.
- Must pass a background check, and separately as required by customers.
- Must be able to drive and operate personal and/or company vehicles.
- Pass customer specific background and safety training.
- OSHA 10, OSHA 30, manlift and forklift certifications preferred or willing to attain.
- A willingness to learn and take on additional functions, preferred.
Must Meet All OSHA standards for working at heights, including:
- Ability to climb and utilize equipment on site including various ladders rated for 325 lbs.
- Must meet OSHA fall protection standards for at height work limited at 310lbs. Standard 1926.502(d)(16)(v)
- Must be able to meet equipment standards for fall protection (harness, anchor ropes, etc.) with a maximum capacity of 310 lbs.
